Sound familiar? Why do we NEED a holiday? It’s often a need to destress, take some time out from work, stressful situations at home or maybe even run away for a while! I’ve been here so many times and used to be a complete holidayholic for all of the above reasons. I used to live my life at 100 miles an hour then the ‘I NEED A HOLIDAY’ appears just in time before I crash and burn. The thing is… whilst a holiday is wonderful for taking time out, relaxing, indulging, having fun and creating wonderful memories – the only problem is, a holiday doesn’t always truly give you the opportunity to detach from what’s happening in real life or offer you tools take with you to manage situations and change your life. What I have learned is the most important relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself and a yoga retreat offers you the space to do this.

So why would I want to go on one of your Yoga, Reiki and Sound Retreats in the French Alps?

Imagine waking up at an altitude of 1250 meters in flagship chalet and beginning your day with meditation and an invigorating morning yoga practice amidst breath taking views before breakfast. Days filled with optional activities including taking a chairlift or hiking through the forest to the mountain tops, swimming in a crystal-clear alpine lake, mountain biking, horse riding, white water rafting, visiting a local market or just chilling out at the chalet in the reading room, jacuzzi or heading out for coffee in the sunshine. Optional lectures available in the afternoons and evenings spent enjoying a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating yin yoga practice before dinner and followed by a reiki drumming or a sound bath before bed. You really don’t have to lift a finger as we have a professional chef who will prepare nutritious and creative vegetarian meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It really is a true opportunity to destress and connect with ‘you’ again.

Training in Singing Bowl Therapy with Grand Master Shree in Nepal has allowed us to also incorporate sound healing into the retreats to enhance the experience and offer deeper healing and relaxation. The sounds, vibrations and frequencies which we play using the singing bowls are transported to the cellular level of our body and has a profound effect on mental peace, relaxation and healing. We also put the bowls directly onto the body so the vibrations can go directly into the body. The singing bowls are great for stimulating the blood vessels, lymph’s, nerves, veins and muscles to open up blockages and loosening tension in the body.

James also completes his Reiki Masters in May 2019 and will be incorporating energy work into the sessions. Reiki re-activates the body’s natural energy system bringing you back into balance on every level, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Reiki Drumming can be a deep relaxation technique that reduces stress and promotes healing. Drumming for healing and meditation is an ancient practice and goes back thousands of years, the power of sound over the body and spirit is well known in tribal cultures. Scientific research confirms that drumming (even for short periods) can influence brain activity, bringing you into the meditative alpha state and can reduce stress. Study also shows that drumming can increase the production of the body’s natural painkillers and can therefore help control pain and enhance healing.
